From NYC to Sydney: My Charity Runway

I traveled from New York to Sydney to join My Charity Runway as its honorary headline designer and I couldn’t have asked for a better introduction to Australian fashion.

The event was held at Doltone House on Sydney Harbour and brought together designers, models and creatives for an evening centered around fashion with a purpose. The theme, “Dressing for the future you want to see,” felt especially fitting.

For the show I chose some of my favorite looks from over the years, including pieces originally worn by supermodel Naomi Campbell in 1992, Angelina Jolie in 2005 and Kathryn Newton in 2026. I’ve always loved revisiting the archives and seeing these designs come to life again on a new generation of models, this time all the way across the world in Sydney, was so special.

What drew me to My Charity Runway was that the evening was about much more than fashion. The event’s Fashion for Impact platform brought together Australian designers and charitable causes, using fashion to create awareness and give back. I’ve always believed fashion should be fun, optimistic and bring people together, and there was certainly plenty of that in the room.

I was lucky to have my team there with me and we were welcomed so warmly from the moment we arrived. A special thank you to Sarah Quinn, founder of My Charity Runway, for inviting me to be part of such a memorable evening and for bringing this incredible event to life. From backstage fittings to the final walk in front of more than 400 guests, the entire experience was something I’ll never forget.

After more than four decades in fashion, I love that there are still so many firsts. Thank you, Sydney, for making this one so special. I hope I’ll be back soon.
